RTE admissions surged in unaided private schools under NDA govt., says Lokesh

Admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act in private unaided schools have increased under the “Praja Prabhutva” (people's government) rule, said Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.
The Minister was responding in the Legislative Council to a question raised by members Kavali Greeshma, Bhumireddy Ramgopal Reddy and Perabathula Rajasekhar regarding the number of students admitted to private schools under the RTE Act.
Mr. Lokesh said that 1,04,046 students were admitted to private unaided schools under the RTE Act between 2022-23 and 2026-27 and that admissions, under Section 12 (1) (c) of the RTE, were conducted through a transparent online process. He said the government had taken several measures to ensure the effective implementation of Section 12(1)(c) leading to a significant increase in admissions in this category.
