RPF organises campaigns for railway, passenger safety in Coimbatore
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Coimbatore conducted a public awareness campaign regarding railway safety and cleanliness. The drive focused on educating citizens about the dangers of trespassing, dumping waste on tracks, and harming railway property.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Sunday (September 20, 2026) organised a special drive to sensitise the public on the dangers of placing objects and dumping garbage on railway tracks.
RPF personnel visited vulnerable locations across the Coimbatore circle, particularly at KM 477/300 near Ondipudur road over bridge, Irugur Yard and other vulnerable sections.
Members of the public were sensitised about the dangers of trespassing onto railway tracks, pelting stones at trains, leaving cattle for grazing on the sides of tracks and other activities that may endanger passengers, railway employees and railway property.
Officers said that the campaign was conducted as part of observing the RPF Raising Day, 2026. RPF also organised other programmes focusing on railway security, passenger safety, public awareness, cleanliness and preventive measures under the supervision of Chandra Mohan, Assistant Security Commissioner, RPF Coimbatore.
