The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) here have arrested a 22-year-old man and recovered what are believed to be valuables stolen and snatched from passengers on the Thiruvananthapuram–Chennai Central Mail (Train No. 12624).

According to the police, two complaints were received through the RailMadad portal on the midnight of August 25 from passengers on the train: a handbag containing a mobile phone and cash was allegedly stolen from a woman passenger and an attempt was made to snatch the gold chain of another woman passenger. A similar, third incident was also reported on the train.
