RPF deploys drones to step up surveillance in Tiruchi Division
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in the Tiruchi Division has deployed advanced drones to monitor railway tracks and prevent incidents like stone-throwing and cattle run-overs. The drones are equipped with night vision and speakers, and are operated by trained RPF personnel.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Tiruchi Division has begun to deploy drones as a technological tool to enhance surveillance and security over railway tracks in view of rising number of instances of throwing stones on trains and also cattle run-overs.
Two advanced drones equipped with night vision have been procured to monitor large areas and vulnerable locations falling within the division to detect any suspicious activity and initiate appropriate action. A team of eight field-level RPF personnel in the rank of constable and head constable have been trained in the operation and maintenance of drones which were introduced a few days ago, said RPF sources. These personnel have received drone pilot licences.
