Rowdy-sheeter found dead in Nelamangala lake after alleged chain-snatching attempt

A known criminal, identified as Battery Jayanth, was found dead in a lake after allegedly attempting to snatch a woman's chain and being assaulted by the public. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of his death and searching for his accomplice.

A rowdy-sheeter, who was allegedly assaulted by members of the public after being caught attempting to snatch a woman’s chain, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a lake at Dodderi village in Nelamangala taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Battery Jayanth, who was reportedly booked in 22 criminal cases.
According to the police, Jayanth and his associate Yathish allegedly attempted to snatch the chain of an elderly woman near Kuluvanahalli Gate in Nelamangala. They were caught by members of the public, who reportedly assaulted the duo, leaving them unconscious.
The two were subsequently taken to a hospital in a 108 ambulance. However, they reportedly escaped from the ambulance while being transported.
