Round-the-clock water supply to Belagavi to resume, says commissioner
Belagavi city will resume round-the-clock water supply following significant rainfall that has replenished local reservoirs. The city commissioner confirmed that water scarcity issues are resolved for the near future due to improved inflow at the Rakkasakoppa and Hidkal dams.

Heavy rain in Belagavi in the last few days has addressed the city's water scarcity issue to a large extent, Belagavi City Corporation Commissioner Karthik M. said here on Monday.
“We have received rains of around 40mm to 50 mm every day for the past few days. It continues to rain. There has been regular discharge from Maharashtra. This has increased the inflow to the Hidkal dam. Due to the recent heavy rains in the Western Ghats region and Tilari area, the Rakkasakoppa reservoir is nearly full. This will allow us to resume round-the-clock water supply to 10 wards in the city and regular supply to the other parts in the corporation area,” Mr. Karthik told reporters.
The commissioner and other officers inspected the water level, inflow and outflow and the capacity of Rakkasakoppa.
