Rome, penguins and planets feature in Museums Victoria school holiday program
Museums Victoria has announced a diverse school holiday program featuring exhibitions on ancient Rome, wildlife, and space science across its various Melbourne locations. The program includes interactive workshops, planetarium shows, and family sleepovers to engage children with history and science.

Museums Victoria will turn its school holiday program towards ancient Rome, wildlife, science and space, with activities spread across Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX and the Immigration Museum.
Melbourne Museum will give families another chance to see ROME: Empire, Power, People before the exhibition closes on 25 October, with a free children’s trail designed to guide younger visitors through its collection of ancient artefacts.
Children can also make their own gladiator helmet in the Creative Lab: Rise of the Gladiators workshop, while the free Mosaic Monuments activity invites visitors to create colourful tiles for large-scale pillars.
The museum’s Our Wondrous Planet exhibition will remain another focus of the holiday program, taking families through the diversity of animal life across different environments.
