KANPUR: Residents of Kanpur protested against the worsening condition of rain-damaged roads by symbolically renaming 80 Feet Road in Barra as ‘Yamlok Dwar’. A young man, dressed as Yamraj, cut a ribbon to highlight the numerous waterlogged potholes.Protesters held a banner by the roadside that stated: ‘Yamraj ka Dwar-Grand Opening (road to hell grand inauguration)’. They claimed that the road was filled with hundreds of large potholes and blamed the negligence of Nagar Nigam for the difficulties faced by road users.Local residents conveyed that traveling on this road had become hazardous, as rainwater concealed the depth of the potholes, creating challenges for motorists. They called on Nagar Nigam to hasten the repairs of the road.They said that the state of the roads in the city is extremely poor, and protests are occurring almost daily.On Sunday, traders entered a pothole in the marble market of Kidwainagar.
