Road blockade staged in Bhadrachalam against Central government’s labour, farm policies
Activists from trade unions and farmers' organizations staged road blockades in Bhadrachalam and across the Khammam district. The protests were part of a nationwide 'Jail Bharo' movement against the Central government's labour and farm policies.

Scores of CITU, AIKS and AIAWU activists staged a road blockade at the Bridge Centre in Bhadrachalam on Monday as part of a nationwide protest called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) against what they described as the ‘anti-labour and anti-farmer’ policies of the Central government.
The protesters raised slogans in support of their demands, including repeal of the four labour codes and the VB-G RAM G Act. Police reportedly detained several protesters and released them later.
CITU district secretary A.J. Ramesh, senior leader M.B. Narsa Reddy, AIKS district assistant secretary Gaddam Swamy and others participated in the protest.
