Road accidents reported over weekend

ROAD accidents resulting in the deaths of a seven-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man were reported in the Ohangwena and Oshana regions on Saturday, as President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah called for meaningful action against road fatalities during Namibia’s National Prayer Day.
In Ohangwena, a seven-year-old girl died after she allegedly ran into the road and was struck by a vehicle at Ongonga village on the Onhuno-Endola road on Saturday.
According to the Namibian Police weekend crime report, the female driver of the vehicle allegedly bumped the child, who died at the scene.
The deceased’s next of kin were informed and police investigations are continuing.
