Increasing heatwave has been identified as a major contributor to Africa air conditioner market rise which is projected to grow from US$8.23 billion in 2025 to US$13.14 billion by 2034.

This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.34 per cent during the 2026-2034 forecast period, according to Research and Market report.

Rising temperatures, rapid urbanization, expanding construction activity and improving household incomes are increasing demand for air conditioning systems across residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Air conditioning adoption across Africa is increasing as extreme heat, population growth and higher living standards reshape cooling requirements.

Nigeria’s air conditioner market is also expanding as urbanization and temperatures increase. Residential properties, malls, hotels and businesses are important demand centers, although power reliability and operating costs remain significant constraints. Daikin opened its first Nigerian Brand Shop with authorized dealer ACE Solutions in July 2022.
