Richa Chadha on her travel show ‘Musafiri’: I wanted to reacquaint people with their cities
Actor Richa Chadha is launching a non-fiction travel show titled 'Musafiri' that explores the lesser-known histories of Indian cities. Originally conceived as a book, the project evolved into an episodic series to better capture the experiential nature of urban discovery.
Why it matters
The show highlights the growing trend of celebrity-led educational content that blends personal narrative with historical documentation.
After years of turning inward to find truth in her performances, Richa Chadha sets her gaze outside as she debuts with her non-fiction travel show, Musafiri . With the aim to unravel lesser-known local histories of cities, the show features her talking to people and experts to make sense of what was and what remains. The first season of the show begins with Mumbai, a city Richa has inhabited for the larger part of her life. “I have lived in Mumbai more than I have lived in Delhi, which is my native place. So, now I feel like I want to understand more of the city,” she says.
