‘Revive’ launched to improve students’ academic standards

The Kerala government has launched the 'Revive' programme to address academic gaps in primary education, specifically targeting Malayalam, English, and Mathematics. The initiative is part of a broader 100-day government plan to improve student learning outcomes.
Why it matters
Targeted educational interventions are critical for addressing post-pandemic learning loss and ensuring foundational literacy and numeracy.
The government aims to ensure that children do not experience difficulties in studies, Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen has said. The government is committed to bringing all children into the mainstream of education and equipping them with life skills, he added. He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Revive – Navajeevanam’ programme being implemented by the General Education department through the Samagra Shiksha Keralam at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Pattom, here on Tuesday.
Revive aims at addressing difficulties faced by lower and upper primary students in Malayalam, English, and Mathematics. It will identify areas where students lag behind, implement effective teaching-learning activities, analyse learning achievements, and continuously improve teaching practice, the Minister said.
