Revenue Inspector of Chitlapakkam caught red-handed while receiving bribe of ₹4,000

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials have arrested a Revenue Inspector for allegedly receiving bribe of ₹4000.
According to the DVAC, Manoj Kumar, residing in Sembakkam, Tambaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District, had purchased an apartment in his name and subsequently applied for correction of his father’s name in the patta , as his father’s name had been wrongly recorded. This was forwarded to the Village Administrative Officer for verification. The VAO inspected the property and submitted his report to the Revenue Inspector for further action. Prasanth, Revenue Inspector, Chitlapakkam, Tambaram Taluk district demanded a bribe of ₹4,000 from the complainant for processing the application.
