Revenue Inspector killed as lorry rams bike

A 29-year-old Revenue Inspector, S. Kannan, died after his motorcycle was struck by a lorry near Katpadi. Local police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

A 29-year-old Revenue Inspector attached with K.V. Kuppam taluk office near Katpadi in Vellore, was killed after the two-wheeler he was riding on was hit by a lorry on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as S. Kannan. Initial inquiry revealed that the victim was returning to his house in Gudiyatham from K.V. Kuppam when an unidentified lorry driver lost control of the vehicle and hit Kannan’s bike.
The police said Kannan was badly injured. Immediately, other motorists and passersby rescued and admitted him to the Government Taluk Hospital in Gudiyatham. However, doctors said that he was brought dead.
