MWANZA: NEWLY appointed Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Commissioner of Police (CP) Salum Rashid Hamduni, has directed authorities to boost revenue collection, improve city cleanliness and prepare for the expected El Niño rains as part of his immediate priorities for the region.

Speaking yesterday during the handover ceremony at the Regional Commissioner’s office, CP Hamduni said development would depend on hard work, humility and patriotism. “Our focus must be on hard work, humility and patriotism.

We must work together to ensure that the people of Mwanza benefit from the development they deserve,” he said.

The Regional Commissioner called for faster production and stronger revenue collection by both local and central government authorities, saying public funds must be used for their intended purposes.

“Every shilling collected by the Government must be properly used to create productivity and development for our people,” he said.
