Results Paddle to Shore After 208th Historic Royal St. John’s Regatta
Volkswagen St. John’s and Fine Strokes Plaster and Painting secured victories in the senior women’s and men’s championships at the 208th Royal St. John’s Regatta. The event was marked by emotional tributes to late rowing coach Mike Power.

Volkswagen St. John’s has won its third senior women’s championship at the Royal St. John’s Regatta by a boat-length over Smith-Stockley in a time of 5:07. All-Star Rebar rounded out the top three.
It was an emotional win for Volkswagen – one of their coaches was Mike Power, who passed away last week and was laid to rest the day before the Regatta.
Nancy Beaton says Power has always been very supportive, and today was for him.
“Sometimes we wouldn’t even know but he would be up in the parking lot watching and give us tips afterward on how to improve. He definitely made us row harder today,” said Beaton.
Winds eased up for the championship from this afternoon when the committee put a pause on rowing for a short time.
