BURSA SGX Home Tech Make The Edge Malaysia your preferred source on Google (Oct 26): Apple Inc on Monday unveiled a revamped iPad mini with an OLED display, water-resistant design and faster chip, kicking off a week of product launches.

The tablet, priced at US$699 (RM2,854), features an 8.5-inch OLED, or organic light-emitting diode, screen that delivers deeper blacks, brighter whites and improved contrast. Apple has increased the display size from the previous 8.3 inches by slimming down the bezels around the panel. The redesigned device also includes a new “Acoustic Display” audio system that places the speakers beneath the display, helping to make this the first iPad with an IP67 dust and water resistance rating.

The new iPad mini is 14% thinner and 13% lighter than its predecessor, and Apple has repositioned the front-facing camera so that it’s better suited for FaceTime calls and video conferencing.
