As per the proposal, Karnataka-based Greenergy Pure Ethanol Pvt. Ltd. will set up the plant on 33 acres of land. The 600 KLD distillery will have a boiler capacity 100 TPH with 13 MW of power generation with rice/maize husk and imported coal as a fuel. During the operation phase, the company requires 2,500 kilo litres of fresh water daily and 1,200 kilo litres of recycled water. It has submitted a proposal to the Chief Engineer, Water Resources Department, Tiruchi, to draw water from the river.
