Reroute regional buses through Tiruchi’s Central Bus Stand, officials urged

Political parties in Manapparai are urging authorities to reroute regional buses through Tiruchi’s Central Bus Stand instead of the Panjapur integrated bus stand. They argue that the current arrangement causes significant inconvenience for commuters traveling to various districts.
Why it matters
Public transport infrastructure decisions directly impact the daily commute and economic productivity of thousands of regional workers.
Representatives of all political parties in Manapparai have appealed to the authorities to operate all Manapparai bound buses from the Tiruchi’s Central Bus Stand instead of the integrated bus stand in Panjapur.
A consultative meeting of all political parties to discuss the issue was led by Communist Party of India (CPI) State Agriculture joint secretary T. Indrajit on Sunday and a petition to resolve the issue was handed to the Tiruchi District Collector Pratik Tayal on Monday.
According to a press release, at present, buses to Palani, Dindigul, Cumbum, Theni, and Bodi plying via Manapparai are operated from Panjapur and do not go via Central Bus Stand, making it inconvenient for commuters.
