Reports: Thunder trade Lu Dort to Hawks in 3-team deal - NBA.com
The Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks have completed a three-team trade involving Lu Dort, Zaccharie Risacher, and Ryan Nembhard. The deal aims to help the Thunder manage salary caps while providing the Hawks and Mavericks with specific roster needs.
Why it matters
This trade significantly alters the defensive rotations of the Hawks and the roster composition of the Mavericks, impacting their competitive standing in the NBA.
The Atlanta Hawks are adding another top defensive wing to their rotation.
On Sunday, the Hawks officially acquired guard Lu Dort from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-team trade that also includes Zaccharie Risacher going to the Dallas Mavericks.
Hawks receive:
Lu Dort (via Oklahoma City)
Ryan Nembhard (via Dallas)
Mavericks receive:
Zaccharie Risacher (via Atlanta)
Protected 2027 second-round pick (via Atlanta)
Thunder receive:
2027 second-round pick (from Chicago, via Dallas)
2031 & 2032 second-round picks (via Atlanta)
The trade allows the Thunder to shed the salary needed to get below the second apron, gives the Hawks another top defender in Dort and gives the Mavericks a third No. 1 overall pick -- the most currently on one roster in the NBA. Risacher will be joining 2011 top pick Kyrie Irving and 2025 top pick Cooper Flagg in Dallas.
