Report: Access to HIV Services High Among Sex Workers, Low Among Girls, Young Women
A new report from Uganda indicates high HIV service access for sex workers but significant gaps for adolescent girls, young women, and people who inject drugs. The study highlights the need for better integration of mental health services and increased demand for preventative care.

A report has revealed that access to HIV services among female sex workers was high at 89.5% but low among adolescent girls and young women (77.2%) and persons who inject drugs (PWID) at 66%.
The report, titled Accessibility and utilization of key HIV prevention services and linkage to care among adolescent girls and young women, female sex workers and people who inject drugs in Uganda, was released at the School of Public Health Auditorium at Makerere University, Kampala. The School of Public Health, the Ministry of Health, and The Global Fund jointly carried out the study.
