Repair all potholes in three days, Guntur Commissioner tells engineers

Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner K. Mayur Ashok directed engineering officials to repair all potholes in the city within three days and ensure that no pothole remained unattended.

At a review meeting with engineering officials and staff at the GMC conference hall late on Wednesday (September 2, 2026), Mr. Mayur Ashok said most of the second phase of desilting works had been completed. He instructed officials to complete the remaining works on a war footing and pay special attention to areas around culverts, where complaints of inadequate desilting had been received. The removed silt should be cleared from the sites immediately, he said.

Assistant Engineers (AEs) were asked to personally monitor pothole repairs and focus on drinking water supply in their respective jurisdictions. They were directed to prevent contamination and collect water samples from all Elevated Level Service Reservoirs and households during supply.
