Religious leaders launch Tabung Haji RCI outreach, clarify misuse risks and safeguard 9.7 million depositors’ savings

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — Efforts to explain the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) will be extended nationwide to help the public gain a comprehensive understanding of how the institution’s deposits were managed.
Former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said the initiative would see Islamic scholars and religious figures explaining the RCI TH findings through mosques, surau, schools, government departments, colleges, universities and community education platforms.
He said the initiative followed a special conference, Hifz al-Mal, which brought together more than 100 scholars and religious leaders from across the country yesterday to discuss the findings and the responsibility of safeguarding the savings of 9.7 million depositors.
