Release of Kannada film ‘Brinda Vihari’ put off to November 20 to avoid clash with ‘Premada Oorali’
The release of the Kannada film 'Brinda Vihari' has been postponed to November 20 to avoid box office competition with another successful film, 'Premada Oorali'. Producers and actors emphasized the importance of supporting the local film industry by ensuring each movie has adequate screen space.
Why it matters
This decision highlights the strategic planning within the regional film industry to maximize theatrical revenue and support smaller productions.
Kannada actor Ganesh’s musical love story ‘Brinda Vihari’, directed by Srinivasa Raju, will be released worldwide on November 20 instead of the earlier proposed date of October 16, MLA and film producer Samruddhi V. Manjunath announced in Hubballi on Saturday.
The film producer, who, along with the lead actor Ganesh, the director, and others of the cast, was in Hubballi on Saturday to take part in a pre-release event, announced that the decision was taken after due consideration.
He said that at a time when the Kannada film ‘Premada Oorali’, made by newcomers, was doing well at the box office, they did not want to clash with it and affect its theatrical run. At a time when Kannada filmdom was facing a dearth of hits, clashing with its theatrical run would be wrong, he said, adding that the film would continue to do well.
