Reduced rainfall leads to decreased Maharashtra discharge
Reduced rainfall in Maharashtra has led to a decrease in water discharge from regional reservoirs. While outflow levels remain high at major dams like Almatti, the overall water storage levels are being monitored as inflow rates fluctuate.

Due to reduced rainfall in Maharashtra, discharge from its reservoirs reduced by around 12,000 cusecs on Wednesday (August 5). The discharge discharge was around 1,13,767 cusecs.
The outflow from Almatti remained high at around 1.51 lakh cusecs. Inflow was around 1.47 lakh cusecs. The dam has around 93.5 tmcft of water against the full capacity of 123 tmcft.
Raja Lakhamagouda dam has around 39.9 tmcft of water against the full capacity of 51 tmcft. Inflow was 22,691 cusecs and outflow was 1,765 cusecs.
