Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 5G focus on big batteries and displays
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 and 17 5G, featuring large 7-inch AMOLED displays and high-capacity 7,700mAh batteries. The devices differ primarily in their chipset and 5G connectivity, with both models running HyperOS 3 and promising six years of security updates.

These devices represent a significant shift toward larger, high-capacity hardware in the budget smartphone segment, impacting consumer expectations for battery life and screen size.

The Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 5G are nearly identical phones, save for some obvious differences - the choice of chipset and the ability to connect to 5G.
The Redmi Note 17 uses the 6nm Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 with either 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM. Its CPU clocks up to 2.9GHz, and its modem supports up to 4G. The Redmi Note 17 5G uses a newer, 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 with a 2.3GHz CPU, either 6GB or 8GB of packaged RAM, and, of course, 5G. It's not exactly clear which SoC is more powerful just on specs.
