Israel is expected to release 60 Palestinian security detainees to the Gaza Strip on Monday from Israeli detention facilities, the military and the Hamas-affiliated Palestinian Prisoners' Media Office said, in what would be the largest detainee release since the October hostage deal.
The IDF said the detainees would be released after interrogation, and that, unlike the prisoners released as part of that agreement, the detainees being freed now are not considered terrorists.
