Red Hat Being Phased Out of Existence (Like Many Other Companies IBM Bought)

The Red Hat brand is reportedly being further dissolved under IBM's ownership, with employees citing a shift toward corporate filler and internal restructuring. Critics argue the company's original open-source culture is being eroded by bureaucratic processes and a focus on share price over substance.
Why it matters
Red Hat is a cornerstone of the open-source software ecosystem; its potential decline signals a broader shift in how major tech conglomerates integrate and potentially stifle acquired independent tech cultures.
The "Red Hat" brand (and badge) is being dissolved some more today
"Today the "badge" says IBM," Thomas Wilson said two hours ago (above). "The team is still here. The work continues. And I’m excited about what comes next."
But the role changed, there's lots of slop ("hey hi") dross or filler, and everybody at IBM knows what PIPs and RA come next.
