Monday marks World Alzheimer’s Day, a global effort to raise awareness and challenge stigma surrounding Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. More than 55 million people are affected by the disease. Wanda Wooten with Right at Home in Northeast Portland joined ARC PDX to discuss early warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how families can approach difficult conversations about memory loss and simple ways to make a home safer. Those signs can include memory lapses that disrupt daily life, rather than occasional forgetfulness.
