Reaching for the stars - PB Tech searches for singing talent

New Zealand hardware reseller PB Tech has launched a singing competition called 'PB Tech Star' to engage its community. The contest offers cash and technology prizes, with finalists performing at a live-streamed event in November.
Why it matters
This initiative demonstrates a corporate marketing strategy aimed at brand engagement through community-focused entertainment and talent promotion.
PB Tech is channelling the likes of America’s Got Talent and New Zealand Idol in its latest promotion, as it searches for top talent in its very own singing competition.
The hardware reseller has launched PB Tech Star a contest in which budding singers vie for their share of more than $30,000 in cash and technology prizes.
To enter, contestants submit video entries to the PB Tech Star website with weekly winners decided by public vote. The top eight finalists as chosen by the public will then compete live at a live-streamed grand final at the PB Tech Manukau store on Black Friday night in November.
The competition is the brainchild of PB Tech founder Pat Huo, who has had a lifelong passion for music and wanted to give budding singers a chance to pursue their musical dreams.
