RDPR Minister mandates CEOs to conduct surprise village visits every week
The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister of India has mandated that zilla panchayat CEOs conduct weekly surprise visits to villages. The initiative aims to improve rural infrastructure, including drinking water, roads, and hygiene, while addressing local grievances.

The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the zilla panchayat have been asked to mandatorily make “surprise visits” to at least four to five villages over two days in a week.
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Eshwar Khandre, in a directive, said that CEOs should make “surprise visits” to gram panchayats to inspect attendance and review the work of the Panchayat Development Officers and Taluk Executive Offices. The CEOs must hear and address the grievances of the people.
