Rates for new electricity connections revised in Keralam

The State Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued orders revising the rates payable by consumers for receiving electricity connections.

The new rate for LT single phase (domestic) up to 2 kilowatt (kW) is ₹2,000 per connection. In the case of LT categories, excluding domestic, ₹2,500 per connection has been set as the fee for LT single phase up to 1 kW, and ₹3,000 for LT single phase service above 1 kW and up to 2 kW.

The new rates will be applicable from October 12, a commission order dated September 23 said.

The rates for some of the other categories are as follows: LT single phase service connection above 2 kW up to and including 5kW (₹5,000), LT three phase service connection above 5 kW up to and including 7 kW (₹8,000), LT three phase service connection above 7 kW up to and including 10 kW (₹10,000).
