MUMBAI: A food complaint over an alleged rat found in a masala dosa at a Borivli hotel has taken an unexpected turn, with police registering an FIR against two sisters for allegedly trying to extort money from the hotelier.According to the FIR, sisters Mansi and Kinjal, along with their relatives, had gone to the hotel for a meal on September 24 when one of their relatives allegedly found a rat in the masala dosa. The family created a ruckus at the restaurant and called the police.A video purportedly showing the rat in the food surfaced on social media two days later and went viral. On September 28, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspended the restaurant’s licence.Police said that after the licence was suspended, the hotelier received a call from the sisters, who allegedly demanded Rs 25 lakh as compensation.
