Rams' Sean McVay fuming over special teams errors: 'It cost us the game tonight' - NFL.com
Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay expressed significant frustration following a 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills. The defeat was largely attributed to poor special teams performance, including a blocked field goal and missed opportunities.
Why it matters
The loss highlights ongoing coaching and personnel challenges for a high-profile NFL team, impacting their season trajectory.
Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay seethed after his club blew a chance to win Monday night with a blocked field goal, ultimately losing 37-34 to the Buffalo Bills in overtime.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been this pissed after a game,” McVay told reporters.
McVay had every right to be upset. He should first direct his ire at the man in the mirror.
The coach's decision to take his foot off the gas after the Rams pushed past the 35-yard line on the final drive was an inexcusable gaffe. Rams kicker Harrison Mevis already missed one kick on the night and doesn’t have the strongest leg. Settling for a 48-yard kick was asking for trouble.
