Ramesh Jarkiholi calls on Siddaramaiah

BJP leader Ramesh Jarkiholi met with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Mysuru, describing the visit as private. The meeting follows legal actions taken by Siddaramaiah regarding defamatory videos, which his son clarified do not feature the former CM.
Why it matters
High-level political interactions and legal disputes over digital propaganda highlight the volatile nature of regional political discourse.
Former Minister and BJP leader Ramesh Jarkiholi called on former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the latter’s residence in Mysuru on Thursday.
Mr. Jarkiholi’s visit follows Mr. Siddaramaiah’s action of seeking injunction against circulation of allegedly defamatory videos about him.
Mr. Jarkiholi, who told waiting reporters that the visit was a “private” one, said Mr. Siddaramaiah should have fought against the smear campaign instead of seeking an injunction. He also described the former Chief Minister as their leader.
Meanwhile, Mr. Siddaramaiah’s son and Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah has sought to clarify that the defamatory video does not feature the former Chief Minister. “It is neither a CD nor an obscene video”.
