Ramayana Part One Box Office Collections: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer has a healthy first day battling Pre Diwali

The film 'Ramayana: Part One' achieved a healthy opening day box office collection despite the challenges of a pre-Diwali release. While Hindi-language numbers were lower than expected, strong performance in regional markets contributed to a successful overall debut.
Why it matters
The performance highlights the shifting dynamics of the Indian film industry, where regional dubbed versions and star power are increasingly critical to overall box office success.
Ramayana: Part One (Hindi) collected Rs. 45 crore nett approx on its opening day at the Indian box office. The South dubbed versions brought in another Rs. 18.50 crore nett. That adds to a healthy Rs. 63.50 crore nett first-day number.
These numbers, particularly the Hindi ones, may appear low; they are, in fact, low, but there are a couple of external factors in play which make these numbers make sense. First and foremost is the pre-Diwali period, which is a major limiting factor. There was hope that perhaps this being a huge film would be able to somewhat overcome it, but that didn't happen. For that matter, as a devotional film catering heavily to family audiences, this impact was even more pronounced.
