Rajasthan woman’s kidnap bid was part of plot to remarry her in Hyderabad: Police

The attempt to abduct a 21-year-old married woman from her rented house in Dasarahalli was allegedly part of a plot by her relatives to take her to Hyderabad and marry her off to another relative, the police investigation has revealed.

The Magadi Road police have arrested six people in connection with the incident, including a woman, while the car driver who allegedly helped execute the abduction remains absconding.

The woman, identified as Pooja, a native of Rajasthan, had fallen in love with Omprakash, who belonged to a different sub-caste. Her family had opposed their relationship and refused to accept their marriage.

Despite this, Pooja married Omprakash around seven months ago and subsequently left Rajasthan with him for Bengaluru. The couple had been staying in a rented house in Dasarahalli.
