Rajasthan first State in northern India to complete digital identification of farmers
Rajasthan has become the first state in northern India to complete the digital identification of farmers, issuing over 90 lakh identity cards. This initiative aims to streamline the delivery of agricultural services, including crop insurance, fertilizer distribution, and MSP procurement.

Rajasthan has become the first State in northern India and the sixth in the country to complete digital identification of farmers by achieving the target of issuing 90.19 lakh identity cards set by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. It will facilitate identification of eligible beneficiaries and make various services for farmers more targeted.
Compared to the 76.54 lakh operational holdings recorded in the 2015-16 agriculture census, the digital identification of farmers has reached approximately 118% with the coordinated efforts of the Agriculture and Revenue Departments.
