Rains help reservoirs build storage steadily
Recent rainfall has significantly improved water storage levels in major reservoirs across Telangana's Krishna and Godavari basins. Authorities are actively managing floodwater through lift irrigation schemes to fill linked tanks and reservoirs.

The rain gods appear to be kind enough with the ‘better late than never’ approach for Telangana as the water level/storage in most of the major reservoirs in the Krishna and Godavari basins in the State is building up steadily, thanks to the flood from the upstream and also rains in the local catchment areas.
Reservoirs such as Jurala, Srisailam, Nizamsagar, Sriramsagar, Yellampally, Kaddam and others which were having water storage below their dead storage level or slightly above it and longing for the first flood of the season till recently, have started getting flood. Under Jurala, all canal systems and lift schemes have been switched on to fill the linked tanks.
