Rain, storms and flash flooding predicted to hit large parts of Australia in coming days

Australia is set to cop wild, wet and stormy weather predicted to impact almost all states and territories in the coming days. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of a stormy few days ahead for large swaths of the country as a large low pressure system builds over eastern Western Australia. Senior meteorologist David Crock said the system is currently producing plenty of rain and storms through the deserts of eastern Western Australia and western South Australia, before it’s forecast to impact parts of southern Northern Territory later on Sunday, including parts of Alice Springs. As the system moves east it will impact multiple states over several days, causing downpours, storms and possible flash flooding. “It’s a pretty big system which is drawing in moisture from the Indian Ocean,” Crock said.
