Rain fails to dampen spirits as thousands turn up for Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert, marking beginning of Aura World Tour

Thousands of fans gathered at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to attend Diljit Dosanjh's Aura World Tour concert despite heavy unseasonal rain. The event saw massive turnout, supported by extended Delhi Metro services and strict security measures to manage the crowd of approximately 70,000 spectators.
Why it matters
The concert highlights the massive cultural influence of Punjabi music on a global scale and demonstrates the logistical coordination required for large-scale entertainment events in major Indian urban centers.
NEW DELHI The rain-soaked Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi turned into a sea of white turbans, music and cheers on Friday (October 30, 2026) evening as thousands of fans braved hours of rain to catch Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh perform in the capital. The unseasonal showers, which continued through the day and into the evening, did little to dampen the enthusiasm of concertgoers, who began gathering outside the stadium hours before the show. By evening, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro station was packed, with queues stretching at its exit as fans made their way to Gate No. 14 of the venue. With no general parking available at the stadium, many opted to travel by Metro. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had also extended services on all lines (except the Airport Express line) upto midnight for the concertgoers.
