A team of Government Railway Police (GRP) reportedly rescued a 30-year-old woman who attempted to end her life at Vijayawada railway station on Tuesday.
According to GRP, Vijayawada, unidentified persons made a call and informed that a woman was allegedly making attempts to end her life on Platform No. 10. Circle Inspector (CI) J.V. Ramana and other officers rushed to the spot and rescued the woman.
During the inquiry, the woman, a mother of two children and hails from Kothapatnam mandal in Prakasam district, said that she was unable to bear the alleged harassment from her alcohol-addicted husband.
