Rahul Gandhi to address students in Chennai today

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address students in Chennai regarding educational policies and job opportunities. TNCC president Manickam Tagore also commented on the shifting political landscape in Tamil Nadu, suggesting a potential move of AIADMK support toward the TVK.
Why it matters
The visit highlights the ongoing political realignment in Tamil Nadu and the focus of national opposition leaders on regional student issues.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president Manickam Tagore on Friday said Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi would address various issues related to students at Island Grounds in Chennai on Saturday evening.
According to Mr. Tagore, 10,000 to 20,000 students, who registered and received the QR code, will be participating in the event.
Mr. Gandhi will also meet Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at his residence.
“Our leader will address issues related to Tamil Nadu students such as National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, lack of jobs, education for girls and women, and the Union government’s educational policy. It is going to be an interactive session. Though protests are happening in New Delhi, he [Mr. Gandhi] is coming to Chennai because he had agreed to this,” the TNCC president further said.
