Rahul Gandhi to address District Congress Committee presidents near Chennai

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to meet with 74 District Congress Committee presidents near Chennai to discuss rebuilding the party's presence in Tamil Nadu. This closed-door meeting marks a strategic effort to strengthen the party's influence in the state.
Why it matters
As a major opposition figure, Gandhi's efforts to revitalize the Congress party in a state where it has been out of power for decades carry significant political weight.
Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Chennai on Saturday to participate in a meeting with 74 District Congress Committee presidents at a hotel on East Coast Road near Mamallapuram.
Sources in the party said that it would be a closed door meeting with no access to the media. Mr. Gandhi is expected to meet and greet the families of district presidents and speak about rebuilding the party in Tamil Nadu, which is experiencing a new found bounce, thanks to being a part of the State Government after almost 59 years since the party lost power in 1967.
