Race Across the World's Kush Burman hopes to help others affected by suicide

Share Save Add as preferred on Google Mairead Smyth North West BBC Kush Burman was 14 years old when his stepdad died during the coronavirus pandemic When Kush Burman won BBC's Race Across the World, he wanted to use his new-found platform to help those who had supported him and his family after his dad took his own life.

Burman opened up about his struggles on the popular BBC show following Matt's suicide during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020.

"I had no clue what was going on when I was 14... I had zero indication," said the 20-year-old from Liverpool.

"So it was such a surprise, but I think going through life now I've always got at the back of my mind, just be nice, because you will never know.... you can't know unless someone directly comes to you."
