Speaking to the media after laying the foundation stone, the Minister said he had secured the ₹2 crore from the then TDP government during his previous term as MLA. The construction stalled at the pillar stage after the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government came to power, he said.
After the coalition government assumed office, he had instructed officials to complete the construction within four months, the Minister said. The government was giving priority to sports grounds and the necessary facilities to encourage youth to take up sports, he added.
