Queensland Rail and seven unions have settled a long-running pay dispute after reaching an in-principle agreement.

The agreement will see an end to months of reduced services and frequent delays for rail commuters.

The south-east rail network is expected to return to full service by the end of November, with trains returning to a normal timetable in a staged rollout from October.

Queensland Rail (QR) and seven unions have been negotiating in the Fair Work Commission since May, with protected industrial action and a maintenance backlog resulting in reduced services and frequent delays for commuters.
