PVR INOX, Forum Mall staff fined ₹1.25 lakh for waste management violations

The Bengaluru South City Corporation has imposed fines totalling ₹1.25 lakh on PVR INOX on Hosur Main Road and Forum Mall staff on Kanakapura Main Road for violations related to waste management and the use of banned single-use plastics.
During an inspection at the ‘PVR Cinemas’ (PVR INOX Limited) establishment in Lakkasandra, officials found that wet and dry waste were not being segregated at source and that banned single-use plastics were being used, according to a press statement. The corporation said that it imposed a fine of ₹75,000 on the establishment, including ₹50,000 for mixing non-segregated waste and ₹25,000 for using banned single-use plastics. The amount was collected on the spot.
