Punjab launches cashless payment system for public transport

LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced a cashless payment system for its public transport network by launching the eTransit Punjab App and the T-Cash Card, allowing commuters to travel on metro and electric bus services without using cash or waiting in long queues.
The initiative, announced by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), has been launched in collaboration with the Punjab Transport Department and the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA).
According to PITB, the electronic fare collection system is aimed at making public transport more efficient, secure, and convenient by replacing cash payments and physical tokens with digital transactions.
